As a professional stage director working in Buenos Aires for over 35 years I am happy to admit that I have know Martin for over 20 of those 35 years. He first came to my attention working with the film company that was recording various of my stage productions. There he showed great interest and expertise in the job. This led me to requesting that he, personally, be sent to any recording of a show of mine. As this professional bond grew I was able to call upon him to cover a variety of different posts as the needs of each particular productions required.
He proved himself a very talented Stage Manager where his out going personality and people skills came into play. It isn’t always easy handling a cast of over 100 singers and dancers. Also, as I am Live shows director for the Walt Disney Company Latin America I was able to call on Martin to work along side me in several of our presentations involving different characters. This is always a very complex job with a host of difficulties and guidelines to be respected.
In the mean time he was busy organizing a number of Corporate Events for national and international companies. Once again his talents with multimedia and working with live performers came in to play with surprising results.
Another memorable instance was when he took on the job of being my production manager. This in particular was a very complex show which included singers, dancers, actors, gymnasts and acrobats in a non conventional setting. Due to the political and economical upheaval our country was going through, had it not been for Martin’s quick wit and financial know how we would have taken a huge loss. Fortunately it was avoided and it turned out to be a highly successful production.
Later on, I was lucky enough to be called to write the screen play and direct a Docu Drama called “A Hungarian Saga”. This was to be filmed in Buenos Aires and Budapest in Hungary. Not a simple endeavor. Without doubting for a second I immediately called upon Martin for this venture. We found ourselves having to film on a boat on the Danube, in a helicopter over the city and even in the Cathedral. Each one of these locations a real challenge. Not only did he prove, once again, his proficiency with everything film related, he showed his incredible ability in the complex world of editing. Our venture ended up being submitted to the Houston Film Festival in U.S.A. which makes me exceedingly proud.
